Transforming a smoking room into a summer kitchen: Wabi-Sabi style

Wabi-Sabi is a Japanese term that essentially means finding beauty in imperfection. The owners wanted a summer kitchen with neutral colours and a mix of artisanal and natural elements for a sober but warm result. To embrace the imperfections in the walls of this old smoking room, we worked with raw materials such as lime and cement screed and integrated the various elements into a masonry kitchen with a retro touch from the washbasin and plant-fibre lamps.
